There are plenty of advantages to using blogging sites like live journal or blogger especially for novice bloggers. Sites that host a lot of different blogs often have very useful tutorials about building and updating your blog, and you are likely to encounter a very user- friendly software interface at an established blogging site. There is no need to know anything about html or javascript, since you get plenty of templates and backgrounds to choose from for your blog and there are also plenty of people who give away template designs to use for these sites.Apart from this, these sites also allow instant communication between fellow bloggers who would like to give insight, advices and feedback. These established sites often keep directories of their members, which can be great news for your traffic logs because it means that other bloggers on the site will find out about your pages which makes it easy for you especially if you make money blogging.
However, there are also some downsides to linking up with a large blogging site. By posting within the established templates of a site like blogger, you run the risk of having your blog look and feel like everybody else’s, although you don’t need to worry about blog security and you can have your own background design and the such, almost everything else will look the same. Blogging is so much about expressing your uniqueness and individuality, so it isn’t a suprise that many bloggers choose to stay away from these blogging sites. A lot of bloggers feel that what makes a blog unique is the content it has, but many still believe that the way it looks has very much to do with impact as the content.
